Overview
Our client is in the process of growing their organisation and looking to expand their current setup.
As part of that expansion they are currently looking to recruit an experienced mechanical fitter with basic electrical knowledge who is ambitious and interested in potential managerial positions in the future.
This is a hands on role, your duties will include but not limited to:
- Overhaul and repair pumps, motors, transformers and gearboxes
- Identifying and assessing faults on components
- Re-assembling pumps, motors, transformers and gearboxes for customers
- Carrying out mechanical and electrical repairs
- Using hand tools
- Working from standard operating procedures
- Working with small batches and one off products
- Following health and safety procedures
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- A minimum NVQ level 3 or equivalent in mechanical fitting
- Previous experience of working in the rail industry would be advantagous but not essential
- The ability to work using own initiative
- Willing to learn new skills
- Ambition to work in a senior position
The shifts are undecided however you will be working permanent days, 38 hours per week over 4 or 4.5 days per week.
