What to Expect: Inductions

At EW Recruitment Services, we know that starting a new role can feel like a significant step, which is why we aim to make the induction process as informative and seamless as possible. Inductions are a critical part of ensuring that prospective candidates feel confident and prepared before stepping into their new roles. Here’s what you can expect when attending an induction through EW Recruitment Services.

The Purpose of Inductions

Inductions serve as a bridge between your application and the start of your new role. They provide an opportunity for you to gain valuable insights into the workplace, understand your responsibilities, and ensure that the role aligns with your expectations.

During the induction, you will:

  • Familiarise yourself with the site and its environment.
  • Learn about the day-to-day responsibilities of the role.
  • Assess whether the role and workplace are the right fit for you.

It’s as much about you deciding if the position suits your goals as it is about preparing to meet the expectations of your new employer.

What to Expect

A typical induction with EW Recruitment Services includes several key stages designed to ensure you’re fully prepared for success in your new role.

  1. Face-to-Face Discussion
You’ll begin the induction with a conversation covering essential details about the company and your role. Topics discussed will include:
    • PPE requirements and why they’re critical for safety.
    • Working hours and operational expectations.
    • The company’s code of conduct and workplace culture.

This session allows you to ask any initial questions and ensures that you have a clear understanding of what’s expected.

  1. Site and Shop Floor Tour
Next, you’ll be taken on a guided walk through the site and shop floor. This hands-on experience gives you a close-up view of the environment where you’ll be working. Key areas covered during the tour include:
    • Roles and responsibilities, including the importance of clocking in and out.
    • Proper use of PPE.
    • Health and safety procedures to follow on-site.

This walkthrough provides valuable context, helping you visualise the daily routine and understand the specific tasks involved in your role.

  1. Post-Tour Debrief
After the shop floor tour, you’ll sit down for a debriefing session. This is your chance to:
    • Provide feedback about the role and environment.
    • Discuss any concerns or questions that arose during the tour.
    • Complete the necessary paperwork to finalise your registration for the position.

This step ensures that you feel supported and informed before moving forward.

  1. Follow-Up
Following the induction, we’ll follow up with you via phone to discuss your experience and next steps. This call allows us to address any final questions and confirm your readiness to begin the role.

Why Inductions Matter

Inductions are more than just a formal process - they’re your opportunity to familiarise yourself with the role, build confidence, and decide if the position is right for you. At EW Recruitment Services, we’re committed to making sure you feel fully supported from start to finish.
