Our client is currently looking for a candidate to operate a 360-degree excavator for the excavation and backfilling of graves.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a 360-degree excavator to excavate graves to required dimensions and depths
- Carry out backfilling and reinstatement of graves following interments
- Work accurately around existing graves, memorials, services, and cemetery infrastructure
- Ensure all works comply with health & safety legislation and cemetery regulations
- Conduct daily machine checks and basic maintenance
- Identify ground conditions and adjust working methods accordingly
- Work sensitively and professionally in the presence of funerals and members of the public
- Assist with manual tasks where required, including setting out grave positions
- Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful working environment
- Report defects, hazards, or incidents to the supervisor promptly
Essential:
- CPCS or NPORS 360 Excavator qualification (required)
- Proven experience operating a 360-degree excavator
- Experience excavating graves or working in confined/sensitive environments
- Strong awareness of health & safety practices
- Ability to work accurately and with attention to detail
- Respectful, professional attitude
Desirable:
- Previous cemetery or burial ground experience
- Knowledge of different soil conditions and excavation techniques
This is a temporary seasonal position starting immediately lasting until October/November.
