Our client is currently seeking an experienced CNC press brake operative to join their ever growing team in Chilton.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC press brake and metal forming machinery to produce precision components.
- Configure and adjust tooling, bend allowances, and machine programs for various materials (stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel).
- Verify and approve first-off parts to ensure conformance to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Conduct in-process quality checks and oversee quality compliance for other operators within the team.
- Support and mentor less experienced operators, providing guidance on safe operation, setup, and quality practices.
- Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, work instructions, and technical data.
- Identify and resolve production or quality issues promptly to minimise downtime.
- Monitor and maintain machine performance and carry out basic maintenance or fault reporting.
- Work closely with the Production and Quality teams to ensure all output meets required standards.
- Promote and uphold the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency at all times.
Person Specification:
- Formal engineering or manufacturing qualification preferred (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in CNC press brake or metal forming operations.
- Strong ability to set up, program, and adjust machinery independently.
- Excellent understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications.
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments (verniers, protractors, gauges, etc.).
Working Hours:
- Start on Dayshift for training and induction.
- Move to 2-shift rotation (details of shift times will be provided).
