Currently looking for a temporary Class 1 driver for our client based in Chilton.
Purpose of the Role
You will be responsible for multi runs to local customers or single drops to Scotland and Derby.
Responsibilities
- Driving a class 1 vehicle to transport goods to designated destinations
- Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules and optimise fuel consumption
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and roadworthiness
- Secure cargo properly to prevent movement or damage during transit
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance reports
- Comply with all traffic laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies during operations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery times and any potential issues
Experience
- Proven experience as a Class 1 driver with valid CPC and Digi Card
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for secure cargo handling
- Ability to operate a flatbed lorry safely and efficiently in various weather conditions
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively on tight schedules
Duration of Assignment
This is a temporary position starting immediately for about 6 weeks
