We’re looking for a skilled Lathe Operator to join a busy precision engineering workshop in Chilton. You’ll be machining high-quality components to tight tolerances, working from detailed engineering drawings, and ensuring every part meets exact specifications.
What You’ll Do
- Set up and operate horizontal lathes to machine precision components.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Perform quality checks using measuring tools (micrometers, verniers, gauges).
- Adjust tooling and settings to achieve required tolerances.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience operating horizontal lathes in an engineering/manufacturing setting.
- Strong understanding of machining principles, speeds, and feeds.
- Confident using inspection equipment and working to tight tolerances.
- Reliable, detail-focused, and a team player.
Hours of Operation
- 08:00 - 17:00 Monday to Thursday
- 08:00 - 15:15 Friday
This is a temporary to permanent position for the successful candidate
